BITA and FLTA have merged to form the UKMHA
The British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) representing the UK’s fork lift truck manufacturers and suppliers of associated components and services has merged with the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) to form the UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA).
The UKMHA is now the single voice for the industry committed to raising the standards across the material handling sector. The UKMHA provides market driven services including audit and advisory on best practice, legislation, safety and training.
It continues to represent the interests of its members and lobbies for improved safety standards across the material handling sector through initiatives such as National Forklift Safety Day.
The UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA) is a not-for-profit organisation representing all aspects of the UK’s material handling industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and end users.
The material handling industry plays a pivotal role in the UK economy and is almost unique in the way it operates across all industries, keeping the UK moving. Today’s industry is characterised by a new type of MHE, one more reliant on technology and the increasing use of automation to improve productivity.
The UKMHA speaks with one authoritative voice on the needs of the entire industry, providing a full range of member benefits from training and advisory services to market intelligence and audit services – helping to shape legislation and guide strategies.
The UKMHA is dedicated to representing the interests of all material handling stakeholders, including manufacturers, dealers and end-users. Building on the legacy of the industry’s two most respected trade associations – BITA (British Industrial Truck Association) and the FLTA ( Fork Lift Truck Services) – UKMHA incorporates the best of its founding organisations to embrace the future of the UK’s material handling industry.
