BITA’s Secretary General since 1999, following 31 years of experience with two blue chip companies in the food industry, James enacts the policies of the Management Board, and maintains day-to-day operation of the Association, including financial control. He manages BITA’s administrators and two consultants at BITA’s offices in Sunninghill, near Ascot, and holds several Directorships representing BITA interests.
Amanda joined BITA in February 2009 to ensure the efficient running of all aspects of the BITA technical administration following almost 20 years as a Secretary/Administrator. Her role involves liaison with all BITA technical committees, acting as secretary and the central point for the distribution of documentation, and working closely with BITA’s Technical Consultant, Bob Hine. Amanda is also responsible for the sale of BITA’s publications & guidance notes, including despatch and stock control. Amanda is in charge of subscriptions and membership enquiries, as well as tackling general administration tasks including the preparation of agendas and minutes. Amanda is also in regular contact with Health & Safety Executive (HSE), British Standards Institute (BSI), Federation Européenne de la Manutention (FEM), International Standards Organisation (ISO) and European Committee for Standardisation (CEN). Additionally, Amanda plays a key role in the administration of Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS), BITA’s joint-owned Thorough Examination provider.
