The British Industrial Truck Association (BITA), the trade association representing forklift truck manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and media operating in the UK, has partnered with IMHX co-owner, Informa Markets to raise funds for a leading cancer support charity.
The IMHX 2019 exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham coincided with the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning appeal. Several companies exhibiting at the show were supporting the appeal and the event organisers decided to do likewise.
Each agreed to donate £1,000 to the charity, with the money being donated to its Windsor branch, where BITA Secretary-General, James Clark is chairman.
The donation will be used to support the work of the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at the nearby Wexham Park Hospital.
James Clark said: “On behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support I would like to offer my thanks to both BITA and Informa for generously supporting the charity by making what is, a considerable donation.
“The funds will be put to good use supporting the excellent work carried out at the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre, inside Wexham Park Hospital.”
The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre provides information, counselling, guidance and support to all patients with a cancer diagnosis and at any stage of their treatment.
In addition, staff offer support to patients’ family, friends and carers, as well as other health and social care professionals.
The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre offers a drop-in service or appointments and is staffed by a Macmillan cancer information & support officer and several trained volunteers.
